About BSc. Nursing Program
The BSc nursing degree program is a four year full-time program comprising eight semester, which prepare BSc nursing graduates qualified to practice nursing and midwifery in a variety of setting in either public/ government or private health care setting. It adopts credit system and semester system as per authority guidelines. Modular learning is also integrated in the foundational as well as core courses that is mandatory. Competency based curriculum is the main approach that is based on ten core competencies. The courses are categorised into foundational courses, core courses and elective courses. For the clinical practice students go to civil hospital derabassi, Park healing touch hospital Ambala, Ihbas or Prabh Asra. The nursing course at Sri Sukhmani College of nursing is being conducted according to approved regulation of the Indian nursing council and Baba farid University of health science, Faridkot.
About GNM Program
GNM is a 3 years programme with academic as well clinical practice sidewise. GNM courses at Sri Sukhmani College of nursing is being conducted according to approved regulation of the Indian nursing council and Punjab nursing council Mohali.
About Post basic Nursing Program and MSc. Nursing
PBSc Nursing and MSc Nursing is a 2 years programme with academic as well clinical practice sidewise. PBSc and MSc courses at Sri Sukhmani College of nursing is being conducted according to approved regulation of the Indian nursing council and Baba farid University of health science Faridkot.
ADMISSION
Total Seats:- 50 in Gnm nursing
60 in BSc Nursing ,
40 seats in Post Basic BSc Nursing
Total Seats in MSc Nursing is 20 (5 each in Community Health Nursing, Medical Surgical Nursing, Mental health Nursing, Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Criteria for admission for Gnm
- Age:- A Candidate must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year.
- Should have studied during his/her 10+1 and 10+2 examination as regular candidate from recognized board. The Candidate should be required to submit a certificate to this effect from the Principal/ Head of the Institute Last attended in the prescribed Performa.
- Qualification: –Gnm candidate with any stream. For post basic Nursing candidate must passed Gnm and For MSc Nursing candidate must have 1 year experience after Bsc Nursing or Post basic Nursing.
- Medical Fitness: – The Candidate should be Medically fit, declared by our medical board.
- 5. Selection of Candidates: – Selection of Candidates from amongst those who have applied for admission will be on the basis of merit in PPMET
Criteria for admission for BSc. Nursing
- Age :- A Candidate must have completed the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year.
- Should have studied during his/her 10+1 and 10+2 examination as regular candidate from recognized board. The Candidate should be required to submit a certificate to this effect from the Principal/ Head of the Institute Last attended in the prescribed Performa.
- Qualification: For BSc nursing candidate must have passed the subject of Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ biotechnology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in PCB
- Medical Fitness: The Candidate should be Medically fit, declared by our medical board.
- Selection of Candidates: Selection of Candidates from amongst those who have applied for admission will be on the basis of merit in PPMET
Criteria for Post basic BSc. Nursing
- Age: no upper limit
- Should have studied Gnm examination as regular candidate from recognized Nursing college/ council. The Candidate should be required to submit a certificate to this effect from the Principal/Head of the Institute Last attended in the prescribed Performa
- Qualifications: For PBSc Nursing Candidate must have passed the Gnm and must obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken
- Medical Fitness: The Candidate should be Medically fit, declared by our medical board.
- Selection of Candidates: Selection of Candidates from amongst those who have applied for admission will be on the basis of merit in PPMET
Criteria for MSc. Nursing
- Age: no upper limit
- Should have studied BSc Nursing and PBSc examination as regular candidate from recognized Nursing college/ council. The Candidate should be required to submit a certificate to this effect from the Principal/Head of the Institute Last attended in the prescribed Performa
- Qualifications: For MSc Nursing Candidate must have passed the PBsc and BSc Nursing & must obtained a minimum of 50% marks.
- Medical Fitness: The Candidate should be Medically fit, declared by our medical board.
- Selection of Candidates: Selection of Candidates from amongst those who have applied for admission will be on the basis of merit in PPMET
