14th Annual Sports Meet

The two-day 14th annual sports meet of Sri Sukhmani Group or Institutes concluded here today. Events, including 400m race, 100m race, javelin throw, long jump, shot put and triple jump were organ¬ised during the meet.
Prithvi House bagged the overall winner's trophy while Sahil Kapoor was sportsman of the year. Jagdeep and Monika were named the best athletes.Arvinder Singh emerged winner in triple jump while in the girls category, Kamal¬preet Kaur stood out. In dis¬cuss throw (boys), Jagjeet Sing Rana cornered glory while Makirat Deep Kaur emerged winner in the girls category. Gursimran Kaur claimed the top spot in 800m race while in 1,500m, Renu and Brijesh Yadav (CSE) emerged winners.
Monika won the 400m (girls) event while in 400m (boys) event Anmol (CSE) scripted victory. In 200m (girls), Monika won the top honours while in the boys category, Jagdeep Singh registered win.
Nag House Team won the football championship while Prithvi House won the cricket tournament. Badminton players of Agni House bagged the title, while the girls' title was won by Prithvi House

SSIET students shine in PTU merit list

Students of Sri Sukhmani Institute Of Engineering & Technology (SSIET), Dera Bassi have brought laurels to the college by securing top positions- the 7th semester (industrial training) in the merit list of Punjab Technical University (PTU). In information:technology, Tanvir Singh got 98%, while Ravneet Kaur and Amanjit Brar secured 97% and 96%, respectively. A total of 50 students of the branch secured around 90% in the 7th semester regular results. Students of electrical engineering have also produced outstanding results. Anil Kumar Gupta and Anubhav Sabharwal secured 99%, while Abhishek Kumar and Mukesh Kumar got 98%. Harsh Kumar and Prashant Rai scored 96%. A total of 14 students from the same stream scored more than 90% marks. In mechanical engineering, Puneet Kumar bagged the first position by scoring 94.4 % and Simrank Singh stood second by scoring 93% marks. As many as 20 students of the same branch have scored more than 90% marks. The pass percentage for information and technology, electrical engi neering, mechanical engineering streams is 85% to 90%. Chairman Avtar Singh announced cash prizes for all meritorious students.

Submission of prescribed Internal Reappear Form
|
|
All the detained students in the previous/earlier odd semesters who have improved their attendance as well as the students failed in Internal Assessment of theory and practical subjects are required to submit the prescribed Internal reappear form to their respective H.O.D.s, latest by 06.03.2012.
All HODs are required to take necessary action in this regard.
NOTE- It is mandatory to fill PTU Reappear Examination form even if the student gets reappear in internal examination.
