Admission open on SSGI

Admission to the college is made on the basis of merit in the CET conducted by PTU, Jalandhar for B.Tech students. The advertisement for the tests is given in the newspapers by PTU. The eligibility criteria and other details are made available in the respective brochure issued by PTU, Jalandhar. The students must submit their complete application form to the institute after the allotment of the institute at Jalandhar by PTU. These forms are available in the college prospectus.
Two - third (66.6%) of the seats in all B.Tech. degree courses at the Institution will be filled by PTU. In counseling the remaining one third (33.3%) of the seats will be admitted under the Management Quota and reserved for the non resident Indians (NRI), person of Indian Origin (RIO), Foreign national students and other related categories.
For admission to the engineering courses through Common Entrance Test conducted by Punjab Technical University, 85% of seats under the State Quota are reserved of the candidates from Punjab and 15% are open to all the candidates on all India basis through AIEEE/CET.
The candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subject along with one of the following subjects are eligible for admission.
  • Chemistry
  • Bio —Technology
  • Computer Science
  • Biology
Or
Those candidates who have passed 10+2 examination with science stream and have passed diploma through Punjab State Board of Technical Education, Chandigarh or Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal., or any equivalent examination from a recognized State Board of Technical Education are also eligible for the B.Tech. Courses.
The candidate should have appeared in the CET conducted by PTU, Jalandhar. There will be no cut off marks in the CET. However only those students are eligible for counseling in order of CET Merit and ranking whose rank is declared by the PTU.
Admission through Management Quota for 33.3% seats: The seats under the Management Quota are filled in the following order of preference after publishing a 15 day's prior admission notice through the newspapers:
Merit in CET
  • Merit in All India Entrance Test ( if applicable ).
  • Marks secured in the qualifying examination.
Five percent seats under the Management Quota are reserved for the Non Resident Indians(NRI)
Persons of Indian Origin (PIO), Foreign National students and to the related categories, in accordance with the procedure stipulated below:

The candidates against NRI/PIO/NRI Sponsored/ Industry sponsored seats are admitted on merit of the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. They shall not be required to take the CET.
  • NRI/P10 candidates having ancestral Punjab resident backward are given first preference for admission.
  • NRI/P10 candidates having ancestral background to other states of India are given second preference.
  • Resident Indian candidates who are sponsored by an NRI/P10 and the sponsored letter- is attached with their application are given third preference.
  • The resident Indian candidates who are willing to pay fee in the Indian currency, are accorded fourth.
  • Fee under the NRI/P10 Quota are different from the State Quota or Management Quota.
Any seat remaining vacant under NRI & PIO Sponsored seats industry sponsored seats shall transfer to Management Quota.

RESERVATION
  • The reservation policy of the State Government will apply to the State Quota only. There will be no reservation in respect of the Management Quota ( including NRI Quota)
MBA and MCA Admissions

For admissions in MBA eligibility is graduation with minimum 50% marks and for MCA the eligibility is graduation with mathematics is one of the subject or mathematics at 10+2 level.
